July 8,, 2011. Finally home

The dr came in this morning and we finally got to go home. I am actually blogging from my couch. Ni will blog more later...I am tired right now. Thank you everyone for your prayers and thoughts for our family through one of the hardest things I ever had to go through...the rest of my life is all down hill.

HOORAY!!! Finally home! That is just fantastic! So happy you can all be together and relax while Ellie continues to recover. Even she will be happier just being home with all of you.

Our Story

January 24, 2011 began our jouney into the world of Ellie Mae. On this day we were blessed with a baby girl that had an extra chomosome and a heart defect. Before she was born we knew she had a heart defect but we did not know she had Down Syndrome. When those words were spoken to us from the doctors the only thing we heard was your baby will need open heart surgery shortly after she is born. We spendt the next few months crying and praying. We added her to every prayer chain we could imagine. We researched other families who went through similar situations and prayed to give us strength. I prayed and prayed that God would heal her heart and she would not need surgery, however that was not God's will. On June 28, 2011 our little Ellie Mae had Open Heart Surgery. If you search in our blog archive you will find details about the surgery and hosiptal stay. Going though the surgery with Ellie has made us appreciate life. It has made me soo greatful for my children, and our MANY MANY blessings. At first I was wondering why God would do this to me, to my baby, and then I realized. He was not doing this too me, but for our family. Our family has never been closer. Soo many people have been touched by this beautiful angel. (I am a little bias...lol). I wouldn't change one thing about her. THANK YOU LORD for my beautiful Ellie Mae and my other three beautiful children Devin, Kaylee, and Rylee...and for my loving husband...
